Brooklyn, NY HITN, the leading Spanish-language network that offers educational and entertainment content to families in more than 44 million households across the United States, announced a special programming stunt, ‘El Reino del León,’ (The Reign of the Lion) airing Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, and Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific.

Audiences show great interest in the world of nature, and in lions and other big cats, especially. In response, we have organized an exciting week-long programming event showcasing our top nature series,” explained Erika Vogt-Lowell, the network’s Director of Programing and Acquisitions.

Since its launch, HITN’sTu Planeta programming block, features a series about nature and wild animals, and has become the undisputed leader in the genre among Spanish language Pay TV networks in the United States. Its audience numbers have experienced steady growth, especially among families that enjoy watching television together.

The July programming stunt will include two of the most popular series in this genre, “África Salvaje and “El Fin de Los Grandes Felinos.” Both present interesting facts about African animals, including why the lion is known as the king of the jungle. Audiences will also be invited to watch for clues offered as part of an interactive contest to win a family trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in Orlando, Florida.

Now the website is positioned to be the top health and wellness online destination for Spanish-speakers around the world.

The website, which features over 1,000 pieces of video content on various health, medical and lifestyle topics, is on track to become the most visited online destination for Spanish-speakers seeking health information that’s objective, educational and science-based. The website already receives more than 15 million visitors per year.

The redesigned Vida y Salud website combines the latest generation technology with new features to promote health and wellbeing among Spanish-speaking families

Brooklyn, NY – HITN, the leading Spanish-language network that offers educational and entertainment content to families in more than 44 million households across the United States, announced the relaunch of its Spanish-language health website www.VidaySalud.com. The online resource, which currently has more than 8 million visitors a year and sends out more than 2 million newsletters a month, has been redesigned to incorporate more digital content in dynamic and entertaining ways. The new site now features more than 1,000 videos and 5,000 articles about health, wellbeing and medical topics.

Since HITN took control of www.VidaySalud.com last year, we have worked hard to completely redesign the site to make it easier to navigate, add new functions and services, and significantly increase its video offering,” explained Maximiliano Vaccaro, HITN’s Director of Digital Services. “Nowadays most Internet traffic occurs on mobile devices, and in recognition of that fact we have taken care to offer the best possible experience on smaller screens.”

To improve search capabilities and visuals on mobile devices, the redesigned site implements a new and advanced video platform. It also features new sections and hundreds of larger-format images, as well as live interviews and a directory of health services in the United States and Latin America. In addition, one whole section is designed to complement HITN’s weekly television show, Vida y Salud.

HITN and TV Azteca Co-Produce More Than 200 Hours of “Vida y Salud” Content

“Vida y Salud” will air in two-hour episodes every morning from Monday through Friday in the United States on HITN, and in Latin America on AZ Mundo, a TV Azteca International Pay TV network. Segments of the program on specific topics will also be available for the global market via the new Spanish-language health website www.VidaySalud.com.

On the same day that the new program premieres on HITN, the network will unveil its newly redesigned “Vida y Salud” website, www.VidaySalud.com.  Featuring information about more than 5,000 medical topics, the new site incorporates more video content than ever, presented in Spanish in a dynamic and entertaining style.

Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill will air every Monday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern / 9:00 p.m. Pacific starting October 1st as part of HITN’s Tu Planeta programming block.

Ron Magill is the popular wildlife expert best known for appearing on the iconic Spanish-language variety program, Sabado Gigante for over 25 years. Additionally, Magill has made appearances on television shows such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, and on several documentaries for the Discovery Channel and the History Channel. Magill has won five Emmy Awards for his work on nature documentary programs. Today, Magill is the Communications Director for Zoo Miami.

HITN Continues to Offer Content Relevant to the Health and Wellbeing of Hispanic Families With ‘Centro Medico’

As a kick-off to the premiere of ‘Centro Medico’ Season 2, the network will host a contest where the winners will be given the opportunity to meet the cast and crew in Madrid.

Brooklyn, NY – HITN, the leading Spanish-language network that offers educational and entertainment content to more than 44 million households across the United States, announced the network premiere of Season Two of ‘Centro Médico’ starting on September 17th.  The first season of the program, which airs as part of HITN’s “Vida y Salud” block, will be presented in a marathon session that starts at 9:00 a.m. ET / 6:00 a.m. PT, on September 15th.

‘Centro Médico’ is a docudrama set in a hospital that recreates medical cases and provides simple to understand medical explanations to issues that are relevant to the network’s audience. Viewers are entertained with dramatizations of common medical issues while also receiving valuable information about different conditions, diagnoses and treatments. Season One of Centro Médico’ was a hit for HITN; based on Nielsen figures, the network’s viewership increased by more than 154% in the last year during the show’s timeslot, making it one of HITN’s five most-watched programs.
