HITN is commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary with a slate of television, streaming and digital programming designed to engage Hispanic audiences in the celebration of the Declaration of Independence.

The initiative includes an original series highlighting historic American landmarks, a nationwide broadcast of the documentary series Aerial America, and an interactive online experience exploring all 50 states.

The effort aligns with the broader America 250 observance marking the semiquincentennial of the United States.

“Through this campaign, HITN seeks to strengthen the sense of belonging among Hispanic communities across the country, while remaining true to our mission of educating and entertaining audiences,” said Michael D. Nieves, president and chief executive of HITN.

The network’s original America 250 series will air throughout the summer in short segments integrated into HITN’s regular programming schedule. The videos feature iconic landmarks and historic sites across the United States, showcasing locations that reflect the country’s history and cultural heritage. The series was directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Cody Williams, produced by Ordinary Sunday, and features an original score arranged and produced by Grammy and Tony Award-winning musician Bryan Carter. The segments are available to stream on the HITN GO app.

The television component of the initiative begins July 4 with 50 States in 50 Hours, a two-day marathon of Smithsonian Channel’s Aerial America. The documentary series presents aerial views of all 50 states while exploring the history, geography and culture of each region. Beginning July 6, HITN will continue airing two episodes daily at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. EDT throughout the summer. The series will also be available on demand through HITN GO starting July 4.

The network is also introducing an interactive online hub at hitn.tv/aniversario-250/. The platform features a map of the United States that allows visitors to explore each state through facts, video excerpts from Aerial America and a digital collection of virtual stickers earned as users complete their journey across the country.

Together, the programming and digital experiences are intended to provide Spanish-speaking audiences with new ways to explore the nation’s history, geography and cultural landmarks during the yearlong commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
