HITN took part in the 44^th annual National Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan, where thousands of New Yorkers gathered to celebrate the history, culture and contributions of the city’s Dominican community.

A group of HITN staff members joined spectators along the parade route, distributing promotional items and sharing information about the educational network’s television and digital offerings.

The parade began in the morning along Sixth Avenue, with participants and spectators gathering before the procession set off near 36^th Street. This year’s route extended north to 55^th Street and featured several prominent city and state officials, including New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The procession continued throughout the day with colorful floats, music and performances, as thousands of people lined the avenue despite high temperatures. Bachata and other Dominican rhythms filled the streets as participants celebrated their heritage and national pride.

This year’s parade was held under the theme “Identity and Culture,” a message that aligns with HITN’s mission to educate and entertain while reflecting the diversity and cultural heritage of Hispanic communities across the United States.
