Vida y Salud will debut on digital platforms before expanding to WIPR in Puerto Rico, with plans to add affiliates in other U.S. markets.
HITN Media is preparing to launch Vida y Salud as a 24-hour Spanish-language television network, beginning with digital distribution and an expansion to Puerto Rico through public broadcaster WIPR, the company made the announcement at MIPCOM, the international television market in Cannes.
The channel will initially be available on HITN Go and VidaySalud.com before launching on WIPR’s channel 6.3, also carried by Liberty Cable. WIPR will be the network’s first affiliate, with a potential reach of more than 1.3 million households. HITN Media plans to announce additional affiliates in other U.S. markets.
The network will focus on preventive care, nutrition, physical activity, emotional well-being and healthy lifestyles, offering Spanish-language programming aimed at helping Hispanic families make informed health decisions.
“Hispanic families deserve health information and services in their own language that are reliable and practical for their daily lives,” said Mike Nieves, president and chief executive of HITN Media. He said the television expansion would extend the brand’s reach and connect audiences with additional resources and services.
Founded by physician Aliza Lifshitz, widely known as Doctora Aliza, Vida y Salud was created to improve communication between Hispanic patients and health professionals by making reliable medical information available in Spanish. HITN Media has managed and expanded the brand since 2018 and acquired it in 2026, taking full control of its assets.
The television launch is part of a broader expansion that will include digital health tools, a personal health management portal and access to live consultations with health and wellness specialists. The company also plans to add telehealth services and prescription-related offerings.
For HITN Media this new channel will extend Vida y Salud’s existing digital presence, which includes its website, newsletters, social media and educational programming.
