BROOKLYN, NY., November 15, 2023

The HITN family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jose Nieto Ruiz, HITN’s inaugural employee, today. Jose Nieto, a well-known figure among HITN viewers, was an esteemed producer and talent for the show “El Autor y Su Obra.

HITN expresses gratitude for his nearly four decades of dedicated service, which propelled the organization to its current position.

On February 15, Michael D. Nieves, President and CEO of HITN, revealed that “Studio B” would be renamed the Jose Nieto Ruiz studio in honor of his exceptional contributions to HITN and his role as a distinguished producer and talent for “El Autor y Su Obra.

Nieto Ruiz was a familiar presence to HITN viewers for many years, and his years of service have played a significant role in the success of HITN.

Jose Nieto Ruiz is survived by his two daughters, Ana Luisa Harrah, aged 53, and Maria Teresa Nieto, aged 50, as well as his grandchildren, Ryan Douglas Harrah, aged 31, and Madison Marie Harrah, aged 21.

Nieto passed away at the age of 86 in Colorado Springs, CO.

The entire HITN family keeps Nieto’s family in their thoughts and prayers.
