HITN will pay tribute to the late primatologist Jane Goodall with a special broadcast of Rescued Chimpanzees of the Congo with Jane Goodall.

Jane Goodall

This special programming will be aired on Sunday, October 5. The marathon begins at 10 a.m. ET and will feature all 11 episodes of the acclaimed two-season series.

Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace, died last week at the age of 91. She was widely celebrated for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees and for her lifelong work to protect wildlife and inspire environmental stewardship around the world.

Produced in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute and CuriosityStream, the documentary series takes viewers inside the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of the Congo—the largest sanctuary of its kind in Africa. The stories of orphaned and rescued chimpanzees, and the caregivers who give them a second chance, serve as a testament to Goodall’s vision and mission.

“Dr. Jane Goodall’s tireless work not only redefined the way we see chimpanzees, but also how we see ourselves as part of the natural world,” said Erika Vogt-Lowell, VP of Content for HITN. “We are honored to present this marathon as a way for our audience to reflect on her contributions and celebrate her enduring legacy.”

The broadcast offers U.S. Hispanic audiences a rare opportunity to revisit one of the final major documentary projects to feature Goodall herself, underscoring her global impact as both a scientist and humanitarian.
