HITN and WHYY, the leading public media organization in the Philadelphia region, have announced a new acquisition that will expand the reach of the acclaimed children’s series Albie’s Elevator.
The announcement was made during the prestigious International Animation Film Market (MIFA) in Annecy, France. This collaboration will bring Albie’s Elevator to EDYE’s 14 million viewers across the United States, Latin America, and Brazil, with complete adaptations in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
“Albie’s Elevator is a truly beautiful and enriching series. We are thrilled to bring Albie’s unique charm and the program’s educational value to a much wider audience,” said Erika Vogt-Lowell, Vice President of Content for HITN. “This agreement not only affirms the universal appeal of top-tier productions like Albie’s Elevator, but also reinforces HITN’s unwavering commitment to delivering this caliber of programming to audiences in Latin America, including Brazil.”
A key element of the partnership involves HITN’s investment in language customization. HITN will enhance the Spanish-language adaptation produced by WHYY—including full song translations—and will also develop a complete Brazilian Portuguese version of the series.
“We are incredibly excited about this partnership with HITN,” said Terri Murray, Chief Content Officer and Vice President of Programming and Production for WHYY. “Announcing this at MIFA, among the world’s leading children’s content professionals, underscores the universal appeal of Albie’s Elevator. We believe HITN’s broad reach and expertise will allow Albie’s positive messages and engaging stories to connect with children and families in new and meaningful ways across the Americas.”
To maximize visibility, HITN will roll out an extensive promotional campaign for Albie’s Elevator, including local events, premiere screenings, and interactive contests. This acquisition marks a major step in expanding access to high-quality, educational entertainment for children and families across a broad and diverse audience.
