HITN hosted the Student Government and Restorative Justice team from Maspeth High School for an immersive Student Spotlight experience.

The program goes beyond simple observation, giving students the chance to work side by side with media professionals. Participants took part in set design, scripting, production, and the recording of a 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) inside HITN’s studios.
This hands-on approach is at the core of the Student Spotlight program, which serves as a vital bridge between the classroom and careers in media and communications. By actively engaging in the production process, students gain practical knowledge of how creativity, technology, and teamwork drive the industry to inform and inspire communities.
As new technologies continue to transform how stories are told, opportunities like Student Spotlight help public school students connect with real-world careers—and prepare them to become the next generation of media leaders.
