About 500 students from the María C. Osorio School of Toa Alta participated in a STEM Fair promoted by the Senator Carmelo Ríos of Bayamón, PuertoRico and the Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network, a.k.a HITN. The event gave way to students learning about science, technology, robotics, and mathematics while doing activities that promoted creativity.

STEM fairs are a valuable tool to foster the creativity and ingenuity of our children and young people. Learning about these topics will be of great help to these students who will soon become the leaders of Puerto Rico. “As legislator and president of the National Caucus of Hispanic State Legislators (NHCSL), it is an honor to have the support of one of the largest television networks in the United States and led by Michael D. Nieves, a Puerto Rican committed to the well-being this island. Thanks to him and his team for joining this educational effort through which we will continue to impact more students in our District”, said the legislator.

For his part, Michael D. Nieves, president and CEO of HITN was pleased with the initiative and said that These STEM-based workshops real-life situations and are designed to help students learn, so we expect these activities will make a difference in the lives of students.
