HITN’s Destination Casa Blanca host Ray Suarez asks guest panelists Dr. Bill Rollow, Dr. Elena Rios, Sharon Baskerville and Danny Vargas if the patient’s privacy laws will be kept once patients records are electronic and available to be shared among different institutions. The panelists insist electronic medical records are protected under HIPPA laws and will only be shared under the patient’s authorization, but admit systems can be hacked.
